The Alters is an interesting exploration into existential crisis on a foreign and deadly planet. Fortunately, the actual Alters PC requirements aren't particularly demanding unless you're on an older machine with a low RAM capacity. 

In order to meet The Alters minimum requirements, you only need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, a quad core processor such as the Intel Core i5-3570K, and 16GB of RAM. Unfortunatey, while quite accessible, this level of hardware is nowhere near enough powerful to run the game at its very best.

If you want the best graphics, you'll need to meet The Alters recommended specs which demand an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, an Intel Core i5-6600K CPU or better, and 16GB of RAM.

To play the game on a 4K monitor, you will naturally need an even beefier graphics card, with The Alters ultra specs calling for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT. 

The Alters size - How big is The Alters?

The Alters download size requires 50GB of HD space. The developer has not stated that an SSD is required to run the game, but we recommend installing The Alters onto an SSD anyway for improved performance.
