Can I Run Red Dead Redemption?
To run the Red Dead Redemption PC requirements, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 GPU, an Intel Core i5-4670 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 12GB of HD space.
Following a long period of console-exclusivity, RDR1 finally made it to PC in 2024, and the Red Dead Redemption 1 PC requirements are as tame as one might expect considering the original game's age.
In order to meet the Red Dead Redemption 1 minimum requirements, you will only need an AMD Radeon R7 360 graphics card or equivalent, an AMD FX-9590 processor, and 8GB of RAM. Even with the graphical enhancements, RDR1 is not so beefy that a rig more than ten years old would struggle to run it.
However, this level of hardware will only get you up and running on the lowest settings.
To get the best graphics, the Red Dead Redemption 1 recommended specs demand an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, an Intel Core i5-8500 CPU, and 8GB of RAM. This is a fair jump over the minimum requirements, but nothing that is beyond the reach of most modern gaming rigs.
Still unsure if you can meet the RDR1 system requirements? Take our benchmark test using our automatic checker or by manually entering your system details to see if you can run RDR1.
Red Dead Redemption 1 PC size - How big is RDR1 on PC?
The Red Dead Redemption download size on PC will require 12GB of HDD or SSD space. This is only a slight increase over the PS3 version, considering the original only required about 10-11GB of space.
We generally recommend installing any game on an SSD to improve your performance, but it is likely that the developer will also state an SSD is required to play the game. More and more games are requiring SSD as a minimum requirement, so this PC port is unlikely to be different.
So, if you need more space or want to make an upgrade, check the PCGamesN buyers guide for the best SSD for gaming or just check the latest, best prices for SSDs.
